Yesterday, the last home game of the season for Servette Rugby Club de Genève took place at the Stade de Genève. To celebrate this event with pride, our "Grenat" were eager to produce a spectacle filled with seriousness and ambition. With a score of 66 to 6 at half-time, the current respective Championship leaders were delivering on the expectations put forward. They later offered a wonderful second-half show to the 365 loyal spectators, finishing on a record high score of 123 to 14. Come next Sunday, our team will embark on a spell of four away games (Beny, St-Amour, Coligny, Pilat and Corbelin) going into them as the only undefeated team of the Championship. The road ahead of us is still long before reaching our objective and playing the finals of the Championnat du Lyonnais on Saturday 25 April at Villefranche-sur-Soanne..... "On 1 February 2015, Servette Rugby Club de Genève will be rewarded by the Comité de l’Ain with their first ever Offensive and Fair Play Challenge. Created six years ago, this prize has been awarded each year to the team having shown the greatest amount of respect and fair play on the field, as well as exhaustive offensive spirit. Pierre Paoli, President of l’Ain County rugby, explains: “Servette has undeniably scored the most tries per game and proven to be tremendously disciplined. These are the reasons that led us to awarding them the Offensive and Fair Play Challenge.” This prize acknowledges the hard work and dedication put in by all players, staff and fans alike. Hugh Quennec, President of Servette Rugby Club de Genève, underlines the importance of this accomplishment: “It is an honour that Servette Rugby Club de Genève has been recognized by the Comity de l’Ain for our fair play. This prize highlights our intentions to win in the best manor possible, while giving our opponents the respect they deserve. This achievement is also a result of our work with the Sport for Life Foundation in implementing the Certified Sport for Life program that educates players, coaches, parents and management on important values, and promotes the fact that winning and respecting values can go hand in hand.'' The team is eager to keep applying the philosophy that it has lived by thus far. The journey will continue on Sunday as the team will face off against RC Corbelin, the only other unbeaten team playing in the championship. We look forward to welcoming you to the stadium on this occasion. Let us move forward together. Our story continues…" A big bravo to Servette RC de Genève from the whole team of the Sport for Life Foundation !
