Emmanuelle Salas passed the round of 16 of the “Petits As” by beating the Hungarian Fanny Stollar (6th junior in the European ranking) by the score of 6-4 4-6 7-5 !

Emmanuelle Salas (13 years old) qualified this morning for the round of 16 of the Petits As tournament (children’s unofficial World Championships for under 14) by beating 6-2 6-1 the Danish Simone Alipieva. A great victory for Emmanuelle who had lost to her last week in Bolton. In the 1st round, Emmanuelle beat yesterday the Spaniard Andrea Garcia Fernandez by the score of 7-6 (5) 6-3. In the next round, Emmanuelle will face the Hungarian Fanny Stollar.

Our protégée Jade Suvrijn (ITF 82) unfortunately lost to the American Samantha Crawford (ITF 43) by the score of 7-5 7-5 in the 2nd round tour of the Australian Open juniors. It was a pity because Jade was up 5-3 in the 1st set. However, it will remain an amazing experience for her. The hard work continues !

Our protégée Jade Suvrijn (16 years - ITF 82) brilliantly won her 1st round of the Australian Open by beating 7-5 6-1 the Russian Elizaveta Kulichkova (6th seed and no 10 in the juniors world ranking).

Jade Suvrijn (16 years old – ITF 82 – WTA 916), one of our new young protégées in the Sport for Life Foundation, will not have to pass through the qualifications of the junior Australian Open. The 2011 European Champion (under 16) has entered directly into the Main Draw which will start on Sunday. Our fingers are crossed !
