Development of promising young athletes

Sport for Life also assists in the detection, support and development of promising young athletes. The foundation contributes to their sportive and personal development by giving them access to a wealth of resources.

The youths benefit from the sport champions’ experience as well as from well known experts, who provide advice and recommendations whilst transmitting their values. This prepares the young athletes to become mature and blossoming athletes.

Following the example of our ambassador Amélie Mauresmo, the French golfer Raphael Jacquelin was also immediately attracted by the vision and the mission of the foundation. He has accepted to become the ambassador for the golf programme. Alexia Dechaume-Balleret, ex tennis player ranked 46 WTP and ex coach of Amélie Mauresmo has taken the role of tennis consultant for the programme.

Biljana Vesilinovic, ex lead person for the Serbian female junior tennis team, captain of the Serbian Fed Cup team from 1998 to 2004, coach for Katarina Srebotnik from 2005 to 2009, has also joined Sport for Life as a tennis consultant. Xavier Moreau, Amélie Mauresmo's former physical trainer who works today notably with Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, is also part of the project. Training sessions are organised every year to promote the experience sharing with the young athletes and their trainers.

For each youth supported by the foundation, personal goals are established every year. During the year, the foundation will continue support and coaching to ensure that goals are met.

As of today, six promising young athletes in tennis and golf benefit from this programme.
